About Us
Our Story... Steven and Lori McKee own and operate Stained Glass Overlay of Thames Valley, LLC, located at 174B Bridge Street in Groton, Conn. They purchased the franchise in November of 2006. After multiple trips to Orange, Calif. for extensive training and a major design and renovation of their location they opened the doors to their studio in April 2007.
Working with local designers, builders, architects, and glass shops Steven and Lori create custom glass designs for any size project. Homeowners look to SGO for one of a kind art pieces, that personalize their home, bring beauty and elegance, and add curb appeal. They offer one piece construction art glass that fit over existing windows that are easy to clean. SGO offers many “green” products and Energy Star rated products that can reduce UV light fading and lower heating and cooling costs, while letting the natural light shine through.
Steven has been designing and producing custom work for over 20 years. He has built decks, remodeled kitchens, baths, and has crafted furniture. Previously employed by Pfizer, Inc. he gained extensive computer graphics experience on the job. Lori was trained as a Medical Assistant and Receptionist and uses her skills in computers and crafts to administer and market the business. While they do a majority of installations themselves they can count on local craftsmen to help with larger installations.
